Course content
History of bone marrow transplantation. Types of bone marrow transplantation. Indications for bone marrow transplantation. Donors of hematopoietic cells. Hematopoietic cell collection. Bone marrow transplantation: the procedure. Bone marrow transplantation: complications and its late consequences.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with the issue of bone marrow transplantation, conditions for donation, and its use in the treatment of oncological patients.
The student knows the conditions for bone marrow donation and is able to prepare the donor for a bone marrow collection and to provide care to him after the procedure. The student is able to assess the patient's needs before and after bone marrow transplantation and is able to plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care of patients undergoing this procedure.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test

Completion of compulsory 50% attendance at the lectures. Completion of compulsory 80% attendance at the practicum sessions and seminars. Successful completion of a written test.
