Course content
Glassy state. Structure and basic physico-chemical properties of glasses, chemical composition of glasses. Raw materials for glass production. Classification of used glass. Technology of glass. Coloration of glass. Surface modification of glass. Advanced flat glass. Special technical glasses and products. Glass-ceramics materials.

Learning outcomes

Understanding of relations between bonding, structure and properties of glassy materials. Knowledge of raw materials, production, properties and applications of all kinds of glasses used in civil engineering.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of general and inorganic chemistry following scope of studies "General and Inorganic Chemistry I." and "Generala and Inorganic Chemistry II."

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination

Sucessful passing of exam, which has both, written and oral parts.
