Course content
Introduction. The issue of mining and quarrying of mineral resources. Production of energy and fuels, environmental impact and the possibility of environmental protection. Production of building materials. Electrochemical processes and their impact on the environment. Production of large-volume inorganic chemicals. Environmental aspects involved in the operation of large-volume productions of organic compounds. Environmental impacts of production and processing of polymers. Waste associated with the textile, leather and paper plants. Solid wastes, the possibility of recycling and disposal. Waste water and gases. The issue of large combustion plants. Environmental aspects associated with a surface treatment products and construction materials. Excursion of technological plant. Excursion of technological premises for recycling, incineration or cleaning operations.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to create a vision for a comprehensive understanding of the principles of difficult technologies, their impact on the environment and technical solutions to reducing their impact on the environment.
After graduating the student oriented in the basic principles of the technology and understands the context of each chemical engineering operations. Is aware of the best available techniques applied to the specific Examples of technology problematic from the perspective of environmental protection.
