Course content
Basic terms, basic managerial approaches. Development of management theories, schools of western management. New trends in management. Planning, its essence, aims, system of plans, strategic processes. Organization, its essence and aims, organization structures, organization documents. Human resources management, selection of people, their deployment and evaluation.Remuneration. Management, motivation, styles of management. Control, main principles and aims of control, styles, types and phases of control processes, feedback and feedforward. Decision making processes, its essence, aims and phases, risks and uncertainties, managerial games. Internal Communications. Summary lectured topics.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with theoretical ground needed for the follow-up courses and further placing of graduates in managerial positions in production and administrative organizations. The course focuses on basic terms, principles as well as historical development. The main part of the course deals with function of planning including decision making and forecasting, organization, human resources management, management and control. The final part of the course presents main characteristics of the world management and new management moments at the beginning of the 21st century.
Students get acquainted with the specifics of managerial work and their everyday activities.

This course does not require previous special professional knowledge.

The assignment is granted upon submission of all correspondence tasks. The examination is written or oral or both.
