Course content
Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Data types of Visual Basic Simple and structured data types and their definition. Variables declaration. Use of the data types. String use and processing. Visual Basic commands: loops, conditional commands, control commands. Procedures and functions. Declaration and use of procedures and functions. Parameters of procedures and functions. Working with files. Sequential and direct access. Interface design. Use of control elements. Menu definition and modification. Use of tool and status bars. Principles and use of single and multiple document interface (MDI, SDI).

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Methods of individual activities
Learning outcomes
In this course students will be introduced to the basics of the MS Visual Basic programming language and its use for creating user friendly applications within MS Windows.
Student will be able to program its own application by Microsoft Visual Basic programming language.
Prerequisites
Students are expected to apply their knowledge gained in the study of Algorithm Development and Programming.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Home assignment evaluation

Assignment based on completing an exercise with a success rate of at least 60 %. Semester project involving the development of a program fulfilling assigned task, and its successful presentation. Alternate assignment: Assignments fulfilled to a minimum of 70%. Exam: Written and oral. Successful solution of given exercises. Sufficiently answer three given questions concerning the subject content.
